Marcus Anthony Mack is a Los Angeles-based composer, pianist, and singer/songwriter whose work exists at the intersection of sound and storytelling. A Berklee College of Music alum, he draws from gospel, R&B, post-classical, and ambient influences, crafting compositions that feel both intimate and expansive.

Raised in the immersive musical environment of the Black church, Marcus learned early on that music is more than sound—it’s an emotional conduit, a means of suspending reality to reveal something deeper. In those spaces, improvisation wasn’t just a skill but a necessity, shaping his ability to create spontaneously, evoke raw emotion, and underscore narratives with a deep sense of presence. He carries this ethos into every project, using music as a tool for connection, introspection, and transcendence.

His compositions have underscored a range of film and documentary projects, including Tethered, a psychological thriller; Black Before Blue, an unflinching look at racial discrimination in policing; and Gilead, his solo album exploring the beauty found within contradiction. Whether composing for film, fashion, or high-concept commercials, Marcus’s work transforms the inarticulate into the articulate—inviting listeners to step beyond the everyday and into spaces where human emotion takes center stage.

As he expands his work to collaborate with distinctive brands and studios, Marcus remains committed to storytelling that is both idiosyncratic and universal. Every tone, vibration, and texture is intentionally composed to have lasting emotional resonance.
